It seems that the latest releases of JSN Epic Pro disables the Joomla FrontPage Blog (and other blog) column layout parameter: If I set columns to 2 or 3, it still displays one column. I like our layout paramters to be 1/4/2/4.

Is this suppose to be? Earlier versions of this template did not affect the layout parameters set in Joomla.

The following code can be inserted into the template.css style sheet to restore the two column front page blog and section blog layouts.

/* Blog Columns */
div.cols2 {
width: 48%;
float:left;

}

div.column1 {
padding-right:10px;
}

div.column2 {
padding-left:10px;
border-left: 1px dashed #CCCCCC;
}

div.blog_more {
clear:both;
border-top: 1px dashed #CCCCCC;
padding-top: 10px;
margin-top: 10px;
}

Hello iamplatinum,

>>> “…if I set columns to 2 or 3, it still displays one column…”
The quantity of columns that is displayed on your website depends on whether your modules are published or not. Also, can you please tell us how did you set columns?

Tony:

You asked how I set columns. We've been setting columns exactly the same way since we installed 1.5RC3 last December and installed Epic Pro as our template of choice. (We keep current on all upgrades -- We are running Joomla 1.5.5 and Epic Pro 2.0).

The way we have always set columns prior to this post is as follows.

Go to Admin Backend
Click on Menus
Select the menu containing the Default (Front Page Blog Layout)
Select Parameters Basic
# Leading 1
# Intro 1
Columns 2
# Links 4

This is how we have been doing it. It stopped working with the last release of Epic Pro.

iamplatinum,

Since JSN Epic represents only design of your website it can NOT effect to your content. In addition, Joomla! 1.5 RC3 is quite old version of system. We highly recommend you to upgrade to latest stable and security fixed version Joomla! 1.5.5. For more information you can find at http://www.joomla.org/content/view/5216/1/

Your response is confusing. First, we always run current versions of software! We started with Joomla 1.5 RC3 and Epic Pro 1.0. This one vs. two column problem began with Joomla 1.5.4 and JSN Epic Pro 1.1.

I thought I answered your question about how I set two columns, and I gave the information in the post. So I don't understand your remarks about content.

Thanks so much for your attention to this, and I am sorry for the misunderstanding that the last post may have caused.

I apologize for misunderstanding. You wrote the sentence below that make us guess you are using Joomla! 1.5 RC3.
>>> “…since we installed 1.5RC3 last December…”

For investigation the issue please to provide an access of control admin panel of your website and the URL of a page where content should be represented as 2 columns.

In addition, since you are PRO customer please feel free to use helpdesk system which is available at http://support.4dstyle.com/dedicated/index.php. You can provide us private information there and take into consideration the history of responses.

Best Regards, Tony
