I want to have different slideshows on different pages.

For instance, if I load apples.jpg, pears.jpg, and grapes.jpg into directory images/stories/fruit... And load bacon.jpg, and potato.jpg into directory images/stories/food...

Can I show the fruit slideshow in one article, and the food slideshow in another article... and can each slideshow have different speed, size, etc. parameters?

Yes, it is possible to have different slide shows on different pages. You need to go to 'Extensions -> 'Module Manager' and duplicate the module by parameter 'Copy'. Afterwards, it is necessary to set up parameters of JSN ImageShow on its configuration page.
