Hi

I a looking for a great template that I can use for multiple sites and yours looks just right. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out by answering a few questions first.

VirtueMart/JSN Epic Pro
I have never used Joomla before but have had a nighmtare with ZenCart and am looking at using Joomla/VirtueMart now that I have done a bit more research :)

My biggest concern is re: the compatibility of JSN Epic Pro and Virtuemart into the future, as I realise that VM will be updated and the changes may not fit the extended styles available in your template.

The biggest style that concerns me is the module that goes in the right/left hand menus - I really like the extra styles provided with your template but if this cannot be used for VM it would be a great shame.

In your info pages re: Virtuemart extended styles you show 2 images right at the bottom of the page http://demo.joomlashine.com/joomla-templates/jsn_epic/j10/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=55&limit=1&limitstart=3 - I want to make my VM module look like the image on the left - using your template do I have to switch on the extended styles to get this layout effect, or is this just for the shopping trolley icon to be added? I am hoping it is just the icon as I am OK without the other extended styles but really want the module to appear in one of your styles 'boxes'!

If I buy your template now, does this mean that I cannot install the latest version of VM and switch on extended styles? If not, please can you provide a rough idea of when you might update your template to make this possible.

Also, is there any way that you can provide some kind of estimate of how long it takes to update the template to make sure VM can be updated also. Is this something you always plan to do? I want to use your template for around multiple sites so this is really important!

In the long term, if you are not still around supporting this template but VM is around and providing updates, I guess other Joomla developers/designers would be able to keep this up to date wouldn't they?

(Apologies if all that about VM is a bit confusing, I think you will know what I mean!!)

Extensions/PlugIns

The other main question that I have is re: extensions/plugins - are pretty much all of these compatible with your template? As I say, I am new to Joomla so I have very little experience of using it.

Initially, I want to use the GetResponse email list plugin, seo friendly url's and corner peel ads. If I install these will they work OK and will the GetResponse one (an opt-in box for email name and address) be able to be styled using your module styles?

Page layout
Is it possible to create the index page with just a left hand panel and a wider main panel, and other pages with a narrower centre panel and side panels on the left hand side and right hand side.

Is this flexible for different pages like this?

Icons
For the icon menu at the top, is it possible to upload my own icons also and make them available via admin?

Sorry for asking so many questions - I am really hoping that I can use your template and achieve what I am hoping for as it looks like a fantastic template.

I look forward to hearing your answers

Best wishes

Phil

Hello Phil,

‘…- I want to make my VM module look like the image on the left…’
There are no needs to use extended style of VirtueMart. You need to use standard JSN Epic PRO style. The PRO package contains the instruction to realize this request.

‘…install the latest version of VM and switch on extended styles?...’
You can install and use latest version VirtueMart with JSN Epic template normally, but unfortunately VM extended style will not be available. The date of release compatible version JSN Epic template is not defined yet. Own VirtueMart style looks pretty suitable for JSN Epic template and you feel free to try it.

‘…extensions/plugins - are pretty much all of these compatible with your template?...’
JSN Epic was tested a long period of time and it works a quite stably. Many issues were detected and fixed. You can make sure about this fact by change log of JSN Epic template at

If there is an issue with JSN Epic template we are responsible to fix it and have an update the template in ‘Download’ area.

‘…Is it possible to create the index page with just a left hand panel…’
Yes, it is possible. You need to duplicate a template then use a function ‘Menu Assignment’ to attach template to appropriate pages. There is no needs to modify ‘index.php’ file.

‘…For the icon menu at the top, is it possible to upload my own icons also and make them available via admin?...’
Yes, you can add your own icons to ‘Top Icon menu’.
