RE: Change of webhosting. Our site has been recreated in Joomla by a staff member, with the blessing of our webmaster who is too busy to perform updates.
Over the past 4 yrs our webmaster became increasingly unavailable. At one point he took the site down for 6 weeks to make changes. We were not notified the site would be taken down.
He has agreed via e-mail to turn over hosting to whomever we select, since he cannot respond to our needs. I am concerned that the hosting changeover is a long and involved process. We may not survive if he takes the site down again or 'loses' it some how. Can anyone tell me how long it should take to move the site to another server? Is is a long and involved process?
