I cannot remove the print and email icons.

I tried this : I went to Content -then Article Manager then clicked on the Options icon on the top. Selected "Hide" radial option next to Show Icons, Show Print, Icons, Show Email Icons, Show Hits


Under article manager I also tried going to the article and selecting {Hide} for Show Icons, Show Print, Icons, Show Email Icons on the article drop down box under Article Options

no luck for either. I am running Joomla 1.7 and jsn epic pro. Ive been stuck on this issue for many hours, please help. Also, I am new to this Forum thing so I dont know if this is the correct place to ask...I apologize in advance if it is not.
