If you are the web developer and working with Joomla templates, it is likely that you know a lot about Firebug. For would-be or non web developers, the word Firebug might sound familiar to you even though you have never used it before.

Till now, this plugin has been a widely-used web development tool thanks to its outstanding features in joomla templates customization. Not only web developers but also other people can find the addon helpful for building a simple and stable website.

In this post, I will clarify what Firebug is and how it is helping thousands of web developers around the world and even non tech folks archive the best results in their work.

What is Firebug?

Firebug is a free add-on integrated in Mozilla Firefox web browser. It is considered "the most popular and powerful web development tool" today. Web developers use the tool to inspect HTML, CSS and JavaScript elements quickly on the web page, also they can see the live changes made on those elements in real-time.

There is another add-on called Firebug Lite to use in other web browsers like Chrome. However, that will be another story. This article covers aspects of the plugin for Firefox browser only.

How can Firebug help you in the template customization?

As I did research, I found out many people wrote about Firebug tutorials and how it helps them save their time and effort in work. Here I give you some in-depth articles about its usage written by experienced web developers over the world. These articles will certainly give you a better understanding about the usability of this cool tool.

When I go ask some web developers what they think about this great Firefox addon, most of them have the same answer: "Firebug is an inevitable tool for me". If you want to become a web developer, other web developers and I give this tool the highest recommendation. If you are not a web developer, you should still try it out; it will work out for sure and help you to modify the joomla templates.
