Goodbye to IE8 - JoomlaShine's official announcement!
How was your 2013? We guess it was all pretty fine. ;) As for us, we had an extremely hard-working year with many new products released and many crazy activities. From the beginning of 2014, and in order to serve you better, we have decided to end support for IE8, so that we will have more time to focus on product development. The main reason is that it caused a lot of conflicts on our customer's websites, so we had to spend a lot of time on IE8 bug fixes.
Are you wondering why?
The usage of IE8 is decreasing
From the ie8 count down website, you can see that IE8 now just occupies about 10% of the market share worldwide, and this is expected to decrease more in 2014.

Saving development cost and time
IE8 is a synonym for disastrous support for web standards, and painful debugging processes. So that there are many big companies who have dropped support for it. And, we think that it will also save your time too. There are many developers who are keen to start new projects without the need to support IE8.

So, those are all reasons to say goodbye to IE8, and we hope that you all support us on this. If you have any comments or questions, just feel free to leave them in the comment system below.
