If you may not know, Joomla 4‘s Beta version will be launched in the 3rd quarter of 2018, further. Stable version will be ready in the 1st half of 2019. (Joomla.org)

The next big thing in CMS Word is coming. As one of the most dedicated developers in Joomla Community, JoomlaShine is really excited about this change.  

It is the opportunity just not for us but also for Joomla to revolutionize the CMS world and bring Joomla back to its glory day. However, to take advantage of those enormous potentials, we still have a lot of works need to be done.

And today, we want to share with you the plan we have prepared for Joomla 4 as well as for JoomlaShine’s users. In order for you to be one step further in taking the big shift in Joomla world.

•    Reworked Application for Consoles
•    Remove Gmail authentication plugin
•    Refactored event management system
•    Introduction of a service container for global dependency management/injection
•    Introduction of Framework agnostic Web Components
•    Faster page loading times
•    MVC layer Improvements

Our plan for Joomla 4

To prepare for Joomla 4, we are going to do as follow:

Make JoomlaShine’s products compatible with Joomla 4

It is a number 1 priority in our plan. In order for JoomlaShine’s user can upgrade to Joomla 4, all current products included JSN templates (Gen 1 & 2) and JSN extensions will be updated and tested to make sure it runs smoothly in Joomla 4, start with its first Beta version.

Not just 4.x version, every Joomla 3.x version including Joomla 3.9 Beta are being tested right when we were writing this article.

Additionally, with the news of having a cleaner and more robust codebase, we are looking forward to making a huge improvement in developing extensions both in feature and UI/UX area. Thus, more powerful, easy-to-use PageBuilder, Uniform or PowerAdmin surely is coming and worth your investment.

In summary, you have nothing to worry about the compatibility of JSN product with any version of Joomla. The update process will be informed to you as soon as possible.

Launch Joomla 4 Update Service

Longtime Joomla users still can remember the nightmare when upgrading from 1.5x to 2.5 or Joomla 3.x. The complexity, as well as the frustrating time spent to find the right Joomla upgrade extensions, discouraged many users to continue. Some end up paying a professional to do the job. In parallel with making blogs, we also going to make a complete tutorial about Joomla 4. Starting with “Updating instruction to Joomla 4” articles. We think this is very necessary for Joomla user (old and new) to get acquaintance with.

Because of all the significant changes in Joomla 4, we estimate that more new users will come and tryout. Therefore, we hope this tutorial will shorten their learning curve and make them fall in love with Joomla like we used to.

Last but not least, following the positive review about Joomla 3.x Made Easy, we will make the same version with Joomla 4.x. It will combine all the works we have done with the previous tutorial. Hopefully, this eBook could be a master guide for anyone want to try Joomla 4.
